You’ve been waiting patiently and now it’s here…Part One of the Vibrant Pink and Orange Summer Party!
I gave you a sneak peek of the cake in the last post, so it seemed only natural that we start there. Because the cake is almost always my favorite part. And because it was positively delicious. And pretty. You get the idea.
So here we go! This is the cake:
It was for my mom’s 60th birthday. Most 60th birthday themes are the black and gray “over the hill” themes, but that stereotype just doesn’t fit my mom.
My mom is fun loving and energetic, so I wanted a theme to match. Thus this vibrant, orange cake.
The cake itself was chocolate-chocolate chip…a new recipe that I found on a fabulous blog, KevinAndAmanda. Amanda vowed that it was the best chocolate cake ever, so being a devoted chocoholic, I just knew that I had to try it.
Boy, was she right!
It was sooo moist, and sooo chocolatey, and sooo incredibly yummy!
Everyone just loved it!
And it looked pretty on the table, too!
Here are the cake decorating instructions and the cake recipe on the site.
Stay tuned for Part 2 of this fun party…the pretty party decorations…coming soon!
