March 2013

I’m so excited by the positive feedback I’ve gotten from y’all about our Alice in Wonderland Tea Party!

In case you missed the party on the website last week, you can find all of the fun details here

It was definitely a party to remember…and just may be one of my new favorites!

There were quite a few crafty touches throughout the party, and as promised, I’ll be sharing some of the tutorials here for you on the blog, starting today with these DIY Tea Cups!

You’ll need:

  • Candy cups (available in an assortment of colors)
  • White cardstock
  • Hot glue

Start off by cutting the cardstock into strips 1/2″ wide by 4 1/4″ long.

Wind each strip tightly around your finger to “curl” it.

About 1/3 of the way to the top of the candy cup, hot glue one end of the strip to the cup.

Curl the strip to create a handle shape, then glue the bottom part of the strip to the cup, leaving a tiny curl at the end.

Voila!

That’s all there is to it!

Fill with your favorite little treat and you’re all set.

They look fantastic in a place setting, but would make super cute little party favors, too!

I’d love to see how you use yours!
